FC Barcelona International Diary

Eight players are away playing for their countries this week. This is the place to find out how they are getting on.

Another international week, and there are eight FC Barcelona players away playing for their countries this time. Raphinha has World Cup qualifiers, and the Europeans have UEFA Nations League or UEFA U21 Championships games to play. These are the eight:

  • Spain: Cubarsí, Pedri & Lamine Yamal
Spain U21: Marc Casadó & Pablo Torre
    France: Kounde
    Poland: Lewandowski
    Brazil: Raphinha

THURSDAY 10 OCTOBER

UEFA Nations League
Israel v France at 8.45pm in Budapest

A home defeat to Italy complicated things for Jules Kounde and his side in Group A2, but the World Cup runners-up will be confident of getting three points from this game that is being played in the Hungarian capital for security reasons.

UEFA U21 Championship qualification
Spain v Kazakhstan at 8.30pm in La Linea

Unbeaten Spain have already qualified for the finals in Slovakia next year, but there are two fixtures still to be played. Kazakhstan, in contrast, are already out of contention.

World Cup qualification
Chile v Brazil at 9pm local time (Friday 2am CEST) in Santiago

Brazil have only won three of their first eight qualifying matches, although the expanded format means they don't need to worry too much. Today they go to Chile, whose campaign has got off to an even slower start.
