Hansi Flick: 'The team is responding well'

Two out of two for Hansi Flick in La Liga so far following Saturday's win over Athletic Club his side's debut at home in the competition at the Estadi Lluís Companys. Goals from Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski handed the blaugranes all three points to add to the three picked up last week at Valencia.

The German coach appeared before the press following the game. "We have a great atmosphere in the team and the attitude is fantastic, everyone is responding really well. We have two wins, six points and that helps. It's not easy with our high pressing and the risks we take - anything can happen but we are doing well," revealed Flick. 

"We have to keep improving and we are working to do better in the next game. That's our objective and that's how things will go well for us. It's true that there are important pieces missing but even though we are not at 100%, the situation is good and we are improving," added the Barça boss. 

Individual names 

On midfielder Pedri, the coach commented: "My staff are doing a great job with him and Pedri has come back really well from injury. He played really well, balancing the team, protecting the ball and being patient and linking up. It's great to see him out on the field." 

Striker Lewandowski also came in for praise as Flick admitted "he is always dangerous, no matter how old he is," whilst also pointing out the excellent performance from 17 year old Marc Bernal: "He does everything I ask of him and he will have an important role in the first team this season."
