Xavi Hernández has just coached his 100th game at FC Barcelona, and was able to celebrate the occasion with a very solid 2-0 win. Since joining the club when it was ninth in the table in November 2021, he took them up to second, then won the title in his first complete season, and has very nearly secured another runners-up finish after tonight's positive result put four points between his own team and Girona with just two games left to play.
If he had left the club, as he announced, then he would be departing after 102 games. Instead, he has happily decided to stay on for at least another year, and who knows how long this story is going to last?
What we do know is that his first 100 games have produced 69 wins, 16 draws and just 15 defeats, with his side scoring 193 goals and condceding 86, including an extraordinary 51 clean sheets.
