FC Barcelona are a goalscoring machine in La Liga with Xavi Hernández's team having scored in 25 consecutive matches in the competition since a goalless draw with Getafe on the opening weekend of the season. Since then the blaugranes have found the met on no less than 56 occasions, making them the second top scorers in the division behind surprise package Girona.
This current run of Barça's is comparable to some other legendary streaks along the Club's history. If Xavi's team can find the net against Athletic Club in San Mamés on Sunday, Barça would equal the run of 26 games set by Ronald Koeman's side in the 2020/21 season. Further ahead are the totals of 34 consecutive matches scoring in the league in 2010/11 and 35 in 2008/09 set by Pep Guardiola's Barça side. The record, however, stands at 38 when in 2012/13 when Tito Vilanova and then Jordi Roura led the blaugranes to 38 games scoring in the league, every game of the campaign. That figure is out of reach for Xavi's team but they could make it to 37 if they were to find the net in all of their remaining league games.
In the top three in Europe
With regards to Europe's top five leagues, Barça are currently in third place in terms of consecutive games finding the net. Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have scored in 37 straight league games with Italian club Inter Milan just behind on a run of 33 matches finding the net.
