Champions League and La Liga matches set the tone for November

Xavi Hernández' side have two games in Europe's premier clubs competition, with one at Montjuïc, plus three in the domestic league

New month and new challenges. November is upon us and FC Barcelona have five matches over the next 30 days; three in the league and two in the Champions League despite an international break halfway through. Even then, the football does not stop as there is the chance to see Barça Women in action in the Clásico against Real Madrid in the Liga F.

San Sebsatián, back home and then to Hamburg

The first weekend of November sees Barça face an away trip to the Real Arena to take on Real Sociedad. Xavi Hernández's team are in fourth place in the table in La Liga and just behind them in fifth are their Basque opponents in a game that will kick off at 9pm CET on Saturday 4 November.

From San Sebastián, the blaugranes travel to Hamburg in Germany in midweek. However, the opposition is not German but Ukrainian with Shakhtar Donetsk playing their home games this season in the Champions League in the Volksparkstadion for security reasons. The two sides have already met in the group stage of the competition in 2022/23, Barça winning 2-1 at the Estadi Olímpic.  The return fixture in group H will be on Tuesday, 7 November, kick off at 6.45pm CET.

The action returns to the Estadi Olímpic for the third game this month for the blaugranes. That fixture comes in La Liga and will see Alavés the visitors in week 13 of the domestic competition. Luis García Plaza's team are currently in 17th place in the table and are in the midst of a run of seven games without a win.

More football at the Estadi Olímpic

The weekend of the 18/19 November there is no football for La Liga due to a break in the fixture list for international matches. However, there will be football at the Estadi Olímpic as Barça Women are in action on Sunday 19 November in the Clásico against Real Madrid. The game is sure to attract a big crowd at Montjuïc and kick off for the Liga F clash is at 12pm CET.

La Liga and Champions League games to come

Following the international break, Barça are back in action in La Liga on Saturday 25 November. Xavi Hernández's team face the Madrid in the Vallecas stadium at the early time of 2pm CET and will be looking for the first win there in their last three visits.

Before November is out there is still time for one more fixture for the blaugranes. That game comes in the Champions League against the side currently in second place in group H, FC Porto. After winning 1-0 in Portugal in their first meeting this season in the competition, Barça will be looking to do the double over their group rivals in a match that kicks off on Tuesday 28 November at 9pm CET at the Estadi Olímpic.
