Ferran Torres, the second top goalscorer in the team, spoke to the press on Tuesday ahead of the Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk, saying that “Barça is a club where you always have win and do so by playing well", adding that a good result against the Ukrainians would be the ideal way to get in the mood for the Real Madrid clash that follows immediately after.
But he also insists that "you can't focus on games that are still in the future, only on the next one. We need to work for the three points tomorrow to get us closer to qualification in the Champions League."
Ferran also commented that “I'm taking every opportunity that comes along. I think I'm an important player who can help the team. Now I'm ready to take things up a notch."
The man everyone was talking about on Sunday night was Marc Guiu, and Torres said that “it was such a surprise to see him scoring just a few seconds after coming on, but in training he has shown us that he is a player who can score goals and who brings to the game the kind of joy we need."
Having earned the moniker of 'the Shark', Ferran has managed to put his struggles behind him and post some quite fabulous performances this season. A lot of his problems have been in the mind, and he is interested in the possibility of being able to help youngsters suffering similar difficulties, saying "I am proud to have set an example for young people who are going through a bad patch."
