The FC Barcelona medical services have announced that first team player Alejandro Balde has a partial tear of the external lateral ligament in his right ankle. The approximate recovery period from such an injury is between 6 and 7 weeks.
Balde started the game against Mallorca this Sunday at Spotify Camp Nou, but in the 12th minute, Amath Ndiaye was shown a direct red card for his reckless tackle on the Barça full back, following VAR review.
The Barça player had to withdraw from the game, replaced by Sergi Roberto. This season, Balde has been playing a prominent role in the team, making 44 appearances, 33 in La Liga, with six assists and 1 goal.
