The Canaletes fountain at the top of Las Ramblas in Barcelona is the traditional gathering place for fans after winning major titles. And this Sunday, we got to witness scenes like never before this side of the pandemic, as supporters flooded en masse to the city centre, waving flags, tooting their horns and chanting songs in celebration of FC Barcelona's 27th Liga title.
The blaugrana colours were everywhere to be seen, on flags, on shirts, on scarves, everywhere. And naturally, the red and yellow of Catalonia too.
Following 4-2 victory at the home of their local rivals Espanyol, and with four games still to play, nobody has even the remotest possibility of stopping Barça now. And the moment the referee's whistle blew at Cornellà, at around 11pm local time, fans started flooding the streets.
There are going to be some tired looking faces at work tomorrow morning. But it was worth it!
