Pedri, Ansu, Gavi, Balde and Nico amongst finalists for Golden Boy 2022

Barça are well represented in the list of finalists for the Golden Boy 2022 award. Last year's winner Pedri González, Ansu Fati, Gavi and Alejandro Balde from the current blaugrana squad are included as well as midfielder Nico González who is on loan at Valencia.  

To be eligible for the award players must be aged 20 years or less, born in 2002 or later. Pedri claimed the award last year despite being just 18 years of age at the time, the same age as Ansu Fati when he came second in 2020.

Previous Barça winners of the award, now in its 20th edition, included Leo Messi (2005), Cesc Fàbregas (2006) and Sergio Agüero (2007). In 2022 the blaugranes will be hoping to add another name to that list.
