Pedri wins Goal of the Season
After already being named the MVP of the season, Pedri has won another online poll, this time the Goal of the Season. The one that users of the official FC Barcelona website granted the most votes was his beauty against Sevilla at Camp Nou.
That wok of footballing art received 1,563 votes, the same one that was given pride of place in a Top 10 in La Liga’s YouTube channel. We never tire of looking at it, so let’s watch it again...
The goal came in a game that was deadlocked at 0-0 until the magic happened on 72 minutes. The Golden Boy’s perfectly placed strike from the edge of the area, coming off the sweetest of assists from Dembélé and followed by a dazzling move to beat two defenders, left goalkeeper Bono with no chance.
Speaking after the game, Pedri said "whenever I see a leg in front, I pull back and shoot. It was not unlike the goal I scored in Turkey.” He was talking about the one against Galatasaray, which came second in the poll with 798 votes. Third place went to the tremendous volley from Jordi Alba against Atlético Madrid, with 742 votes.
