Ferran Torres opened his goalscoring account for FC Barcelona at San Mamés on Thursday night. And it only took him 65 minutes to do –45 minutes of the Super Cup game last week and 20 of tonight’s game with Athletic.
Work of art
His goal was the equaliser after the home side had taken the when the game was just two minutes old. His finish, delightfully curling the ball around Arrizabalaga, was spectacular in itself, but it was made all the more sweeter by the amazing build-up.
Now fewer than nine different players were involved in 22 beautifully strung together passes before Torres put the ball in the net.

18th different name
In all competitions, Barça can no boast a remarkable 18 different goalscorers this season. There aren’t many teams in Europe’s top five leagues with a record like that, although it’s Inter Milan who lead the way with an impressive 20 different names on their scoresheets.
