And so we come to the end of 2021. It’s been a testing year at FC Barcelona, but nevertheless the team still managed to come out of it with a major title, the Copa del Rey. Let’s take a numerical look back at the last 12 months.

Under Ronald Koeman and Xavi Hernández, plus a brief interim period under Sergi Barjuan, Barça conceded 69 goals, just over one a game.
12 goals against Athletic Club
The Lions of Bilbao are the team that were on the wrong end of the most blaugrana goals this last year. No fewer than 12, including four in the cup final.
However, Athletic was also the team that scored the most goals against Barça, seven.
Real Sociedad and Granada, which conceded 11 goals each, were next on the list.
28 Messi goals
The Argentinian now at PSG scored the biggest share of Barça’s 108 goals. He’s followed by Antoine Griezmann (15), Memphis Depay (8), Frenkie de Jong (7) and Ousmane Dembélé (6).
56 games for Busquets
Sergio Busquets played more games than anyone else in 2021, a total of 56, only missing the league game with Athletic in January. Frenkie de Jong and Marc Ter Stegen were next with 52 games.
4,800 minutes for Ter Stegen
However, in terms of time on the pitch, the German goalkeeper tops the list after completing 52 full games. He is followed by Frenkie de Jong (4,551 minutes) and Sergio Busquets (4,533 minutes).

An immense 37 different footballers have represented the club this year. The ones who are no longer part of the team include Messi, Griezmann, Trincão, Ilaix Moriba, Pjanic, Junior Firpo, Emerson Royal and Konrad de la Fuente.
30 wins for Sergio
As he played the most games, it’s no surprise that Sergio Busquets also won the most games (30), ahead of Frenkie de Jong (29), Jordi Alba, Marc Ter Stegen and Òscar Mingueza (28).
Sergio and Ter Stegen are the players that suffered the most defeats (all 13).
Seven 1-1 draws
The most common Barça result in 2021 was 1-1, which happened seven times, including in the last game of the year away to Sevilla. The second most common outcome was a 1-0 win.
