Key dates in the season for FC Barcelona
On Wednesday the league fixture list for the 2021/22 season was published so Barça now know the most important dates in the footballing calendar for the coming campaign.
La Lliga starts at Camp Nou
14 and 15 August: FC Barcelona v Villarreal. Match day 1. Camp Nou
2 and 3 October: Atlético de Madrid v FC Barcelona. Match day 8. Wanda Metropolitano
23 and 24 October: FC Barcelona v Reial Madrid. Match day 10. Camp Nou
20 and 21 November: FC Barcelona v Espanyol. Match day 14. Camp Nou
5 and 6 February : FC Barcelona v Atlètic de Madrid. Match day 23. Camp Nou
12 and 13 February : Espanyol v FC Barcelona. Match day 24. RCDE Stadium
19 and 20 March: Real Madrid v FC Barcelona. Match day 29. Santiago Bernabéu

The Copa del Rey final at the weekend
The domestic cup competition will come to a head on weekend without an La Liga action. On 23 April 2022 the final will take place with the league fixtures moved to the midweek of 20 April (with the exception of the two finalists).
UEFA Champions League
UEFA have already announced the dates for the 2021/22 Champions League. The draw for the group stages will take place on 26 August.
Group stage:
14 and 15 September 2021: Match day 1
28 and 29 September 2021: Match day 2
19 and 20 October 2021: Match day 3
2 and 3 November 2021: Match day 4
23 and 24 November 2021: Match day 5
7 and 8 December 2021: Match day 6
Knock out stages:
15/16/22/23 February and 8/9/15/16 March 2022: last 16
5/6 and 12/13 April 2022: quarter-finals
26/27 April and 3/4 May 2022: semi-finals
28 May 2022: final (Saint Petersburg Stadium)
A Clásico in the Spanish Super Cup
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have not announced the dates for the competition but history points towards the matches being played in January. Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid are involved as league champions and runners-up respectively as are FC Barcelona and Athletic Club as Copa del Rey champions and runners-up. The semi-final line up will see a Clásico as Barça take on Real Madrid and Atlético take on Athletic. .
