Griezmann's goals are important

The great form of Antoine Griezmann continues. The French scored for the third game in a row on Sunday after grabbing a brace in the comeback win over Villarreal in the Estadio de la Cerámica.

Those two goals take him on to a total of 11 this season in La Liga and 18 in all competitions with 11 assists also to his name. Griezmann is having a great 2021 with 13 goals and nine assists in total since the turn of the year. Only team mate Leo Messi and Gerard Moreno have more combined goals+assists in the current calendar year. 

Furthermore, the brace against Villarreal takes his career total of goals to 251 as a professional: 53 with Real Sociedad, 130 with Atlético, 33 with Barça and 35 with the French national side. 

Decisive goals 

A total of 19 of his 33 goals as a blaugrana have served to give Barça the lead in matches and seven have seen them draw level. So, we can say that the majority of his goals have been vital in deciding the outcome of matches. 

Of his 33 goals as a blaugrana in 93 matches, 13 have come at Camp Nou, 16 away from home and four at neutral venues. Last season his goal against Villarreal was voted best of the season by the fans.  

Goals in all competitions

The Barça number 7 is the only player to have scored in all competitions this season with 11 in the league, two in the Champions League, three in the Copa del Rey and two in the Super Cup.
