FC Barcelona now know their opponents in the Copa del Rey final on April 17. It will be Athletic Club, after the 1-2 victory against Levante. Raúl García and Álex Berenguer completed a comeback after Roger Martí's opener and it meant that the Basques qualified for the final by an aggregate score of 3-2, taking into account the 1-1 draw in the first leg at San Mamés.
This will be the ninth time that Barça and Athletic Club have met in the final of the competition, Barça having won six times and Athletic twice.
Barça will fight for its 31st Copa del Rey
Barça reached the final after beating Sevilla 3-0 in a great match for the Catalans and with a penalty stopped by Ter Stegen. A result, achieved after extra-time, which allowed Ronald Koeman's men to win the semifinals also by a 3-2 aggregate score.
Barça will therefore play their 10th final in 13 seasons, a historical record. It will also be the 42nd time that the Catalans have contested a Copa del Rey final.
On April 17, Barça will look to win the 31st cup in its history and reinforce its status as the team with the most titles in this competition.
