Leo Messi just keeps on breaking records. On Sunday against Cádiz he extended one he already owns. His first-half penalty meant that he's now found the net against 38 different teams in the competition, an unheard of total.
The blaugrana captain had only faced Cádiz on two previous occasions, the first coming during the 2005/06 season. In the Ramón de Carranza stadium Barça won 3-1 thanks to a brace from Eto'o and a goal from Ludovic Giuly. This season Messi also played in the 2-1 defeat in Cádiz but Sunday's game was his first game against the Andalusians at Camp Nou.
Of the 38 teams he has scored against, he has found the net most against Sevilla, Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid, Valencia and Espanyol.
With this new total he remains as leader in the ranking ahead of Rául and Aduriz (35) and Benzema and Julio Salinas (34).
