Marc ter Stegen and Barcelona have a relationship that was extended just a few weeks ago until 30 June 2025. The German international goalkeeper is very happy to remain tied to a club and a city in which he feels very much at home. For that reason, he decided to address the Barça fans directly.
“Staying at Barça was the best for me and my family," says a happy Ter Stegen. "Here everyone has made it easy for us to settle into a country and a culture where we feel at home," he explains. Furthermore, the blaugrana keeper highlights the fact that he also feels at home out on the field with Barça: "The football we play here is that one I want to play and for that reason we are very happy about the contract extension."
Marc ter Stegen also mentioned the attitude and results of the team: "We always want to win but we have to be aware that many things have changed and we have to be patient with the team until everyone finds their place." Finally, he also touched on the pandemic and the lack of fans in the stadium for matches: "We have to take notice of the restrictions in each country. We want fans in the stadium but the most important thing is our health and we want the situation to get better so we can all live like we did before."
