Sergiño Dest makes his debut for Barça
After coming on as a substitute against Sevilla, the full-back became the first American to play an official match as a Barça player
Sergiño Dest, who this week was presented as a new Barça player, officially made his debut during the Barça v Sevilla match to become the first American to play for the club.
Jordi Alba had to leave the pitch due to injury after 75 minutes, and the American right-back, therefore, had to play as a left-back on his first appearance for the club.
Just this afternoon, Barça had received confirmation of the player's registration from LaLiga, and Dest, 19, took to the field wearing the No.2. As such Sergiño Dest becomes the fifth American player to play in La Liga, after Kasey Keller (51), Jozy Altidore (9), Shaquell Moore (6) and Oguchi Onyewu (2), and the first to do so for FC Barcelona.
