The Competition Committee of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have decided to postpone the league ‘Clásico’ between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid which was set to be played at Camp Nou on 26 October “due to exceptional causes in agreement with what is set out in article 240 of the RFEF General Rules.”
The Competition Committee, after meeting on Thursday and taking into account the arguments of both parties, also decided the following:
- The rules prevent the altering of the order of the games scheduled in the fixture list.
- The Committee leaves it in the hands of the clubs affected to find a date for the Clásico to be played. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will decide on a date in the coming hours with 10.00am CEST Monday 21 October as the deadline.
- If no agreement can be reached then it will be the Competition Committee who will be given the responsibility of finding a date.
