The FC Barcelona first team got straight back to training on Thursday morning after the 4-0 defeat of Betis in the last game of the year. In what was primarily a recovery session for the players that started at the Camp Nou, the team saw out 2015 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper with Luis Enrique able to count on the services of all of his available squad.
There is little time at Barça for New Year’s celebrations, because there’s a packed January fixture list ahead. It all starts with a derby visit to Espanyol on Saturday at 4.00pm CET, the first of three games with their local rival in the first month of 2016. Luis Enrique has a second training session scheduled for 6.00pm CET on January 1, after which he’ll be giving a press conference.
