La Masia Instagram tops 5 million

There are 5 million of us! The @FCBMasia account on Instagram, created on 12 January 2016, reached this magnificent figure on Saturday following 2,752 posts containing news, videos, photos and graphics relating to scores, goals, injuries, birthdays, kick-offs, squad announcements and much more about youth football at the club. There have been an average of 48 posts a month, and 55 million interactions (about 1 million a month). The 1,200 videos have been viewed 65 million times.

The posts that have generated the most engagement have been the farewell to Andrés Iniesta, the five best academy goals of the 2017/18 season, the announcement of Víctor Valdés as U19A coach, the penalty shootout at the MIC 2018 and the announcement of four first team captains that all came out of La Masia - Leo Messi, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Piqué and Sergi Roberto-. Very close behind in sixth we had the post about UEFA Youth League won by the U19A team coached at the time by García Pimienta, in 2018.
