Marc Valiente began his career at Barça at the age of 15 in the U16 squad. The centre back moved through the age categories before becoming part of Quique Costas' Barça B squad. The stylish defender came close to making his debut for Frank Rijkaard's first team but with competition for places fierce, Valiente packed his bags for Sevilla where he made his professional debut in 2009. Spells in Israel, Belgium, Serbia and India followed before retirement in 2023 at the age of 35.
An elegant and technically gifted defender, Valiente impressed in the youth teams and Barça B but intense competition for places at the time in first team saw him move on in search of minutes to Sevilla FC. With the Andalusians he won the Copa del Rey title, beating Atlético Madrid in the final at Spotify Camp Nou. Five seasons at Valladolid followed before spells with Maccabi Haifa in Israel, Eupen in Belgium and in Serbia with Partizan. A return to Spain meant three seasons with Sporting Gijón, ending his career in India with FC Goa in 2023 at the age of 35.
