Sergi Milà to coach Barça Atlètic to end of the season

Former coordinator of 11-a-side youth football to replace Albert Sánchez, who will join the technical structure at the club

Sergi Milà will be managing Barça Atlètic for the rest of the season. The former coordinator of 11-a-side youth football will be replacing Albert Sánchez, who will join the technical structure at the club.

Sánchez was assistant to Barça Atlètic for two seasons under Rafa Márquez and last season took over as head. He will not be leaving the club but will instead be serving new functions within the coaching structure.

20 years at the club

After working in the Methodology Department of the youth structure, Milà will be leading the reserves on the back of two decades of experience of working at the club.

He worked for five years at Barça Escola, and for 15 years looked after youth teams from U10 through to U16. Having excelled in those roles, he was made coach of the U19 teams for six months, before beginning his work with the senior B team.

He will take charge of his first session this Wednesday, with the focus on the Sunday 7.45pm CET kick-off away to Gimnàstic Tarragona. Barça Atlètic need a change of pattern to turn the results around, for they are currently dangerously close to relegation, and the idea is to turn that situation around in the remaining 13 games
