Barça Atlètic 2-2 Bilbao Athletic: Draw between reserves

Barça Atlètic had to settle for a point against the Athletic Club second team at the Estadi Johan Cruyff in a lively game to end 2024.

But the game chosen to celebrate the 125th anniversary with the fans was a frustrating one, as Barça led twice but in both cases the visitors responded. The reserves now have some time off before returning on January 11 with a visit to Cultura Leonesa.  

Both sides brought some quality football to this game, but it was Barça, moments after Mbacke had hit the post, who eventually drew first blood with Aleix Garrido's goal after 22 minutes.

Barça were strengthened by the goal, but in the second half the Basques found a new verve. Kochen, who had made some fine saves earlier on, was finally beaten by a confident strike from Aingeru Olabarrieta.

Unai Hernández then put Barça Atlètic back ahead with a spectacular 70th minute effort, but just three minutes later Olabarrieta produced his second equaliser of the day, an unstoppably powerful finish making it 2-2.
