What a month this is proving to be. Barça Atlètic collected another three points against Tarazona to ensure at least a place in the playoffs, and with four points separating them from leaders Deportivo, who they meet next week.
Dream start
It took just six minutes for Barça to strike, with a fabulous passing move involving a number of different players eventually converted by Naim.
Rafa Márquez clearly wanted to make the most of the great early dynamic, and sent his players surging forward in search of the second before the Aragonese side were able to work their own way back into proceedings. Guillermo very nearly had that second goal too.
Indeed, Tarazona did start to liven up, but that just served to get Barça pushing even harder and a tremendous dribbling advance by Unai ended with the ball being blasted past Carrasco and after 35 minutes it was 2-0.
Visitors react
Barça came close to a third on repeated occasions, and really should have been playing against ten after a criminal challenge by Álex Gil on Casadó, but not only did the home get away with that but they also pulled a goal back from an Amoah free kick just before half-time.
Unai Hernández was very much at the centre of everything as Barça searched and searched for a third goal. In one of his best games ever, he was a constant threat and could have scored an absolute screamer but was dnied by the woodwork. The football from Tarazona was much better in the second half too, and the result was in the balance right until the end.
Off to Riazor
But they survived to the end ahead of a big trip next week to leaders Deportivo at Riazor. The Galicians got their job done today with a 1-0 win at Sestao, so the gap is now four points. Barça are the only team that can stop Depor from claiming the direct promotion spot. And hopefully that's precisely what they are going to do!
