SD Ponferradina 1-3 Barça Atlètic: Crucial away win
Barça Atlètic have picked up a crucial win on the road at Ponferradina in which a tightly balanced encounter was very much changed by the entry of Marc Guiu on the field.
The sides were tightly matched at 1-1 with neither side managing to exert itself over the other, but Guiui's entry for the final half hour had an immense impact. First he produced a beautiful move in tandem with Marc Casadó that culminated with him tapping the ball into an empty net, and a few minutes later he was through on goal to score the second, and would have done had the keeper not brought him down.
Moha Moukhliss expertly did the duties from the spot and there was still time for Guiu to very nearly cap a brilliant display with a second but this time he was defied by the woodwork.
Barça had looked very much in control early on, and Pau Víctor deservedly put his side into the lead to thus extend his tally that already has him down as the top goal-getter in the division.
'Ponfe' managed to respond to that with a well taken header by Argentine centre-back Kevin Sibille, and from there on the game could have gone either way. That was until Guiu entered the fray and everything changed
So, a massive three points for Barça Atlètic, all the sweeter still against a direct rival in the promotion race.
