Barça Atlètic 0-2 Unionistas Salamanca: Loss to start 2024

A defeat to start the year for Barça Atlètic, as the blaugranes lost 0-2 to Unionistas, Slavy and Álvaro Gómez scoring the goals. The Catalans also saw Ángel Alarcón leave the pitch due to injury after 69 minutes, before Mbacke did the same in added time.

Visitors take the lead

Rafa Márquez' side attacked from the off but they came up against a solid Unionista defence. Cuéllar went close in the first 10 minutes, but Cacharrón saved. The Unionistas number 9, Slavy, then made the breakthrough, powerfully scoring from a corner despite Vidal's attempts to save.

Barça Atlètic tried to push up but Dani Ponz' side remained solid in defence, frustrating any attempt by the blaugrana players. 0-1 at half time.

Tough blows after the break

More of the same in the second half, but the blaugranes stepped up the pace, leading the visitors to commit fouls to stop the young Barça players in their tracks. Giménez and Adri Gómez both picked up yellow cards after strong challenges.

A major blow saw one of the better players in the half, Ángel Alarcón, have to leave the pitch after 67 minutes due an injury picked while sprinting. Unionistas substitute Álvaro Gómez went on to score a header after 82 minutes to make it 0-2, before Mbacke unfortunately also had to leave the field in added time. Final score 0-2.
