FC Barcelona and Real Betis Balompié have reached an agreement on a one-season loan of Moroccan player Chadi Riad to the latter. The deal ends on 30 June 2024, whereupon Betis will have the option to purchase the player on a permanent basis.
Four seasons in blaugrana
Chadi Riad came to FC Barcelona in 2019 from the Real Mallorca youth system and after a year with the U19 side he spent the next on loan to the CE Sabadell youth team, but ended up playing for the seniors. Back at Barça, he became a key member of the league-winning youth team and was soon part of the Barça Atlètic squad.
He was an automatic choice for Rafa Márquez, playing 37 games last season and scoring three goals. On 8 November 2022, he made his senior debut for Barça in La Liga against Osasuna.
Chadi Riad also made his full international debut for Morocco last season, and this summer was in the team that won the U23 African Cup of Nations.
