FC Barcelona and Kayserispor have reached an agreement for the transfer of Emre Demir for a cost of 2 million euros plus variables on a contract until 30 June 2027. The buyout clause will be set at 400 million euros. The player will be staying at the Tuirkish club until the end of the present season, after which he’ll be forming part of the Barça B setup.
Born 15 January 2004 in Mersin (Turkey), Emre Demir is a skilful left-footed attacking midfielder who can also play anywhere in the frontline. Although he’s essentially a playmaker, he also drops back to help with defensive duties. Being 1.75m tall, Demir uses his centre of gravity to make the best of his skills in the final quarter.
After learning the game at Kuvayi Milliyespor, in the summer of 2019 he was just 15 when he made his Turkish top flight debut with Kayserispor and went on to become the youngest ever goalscorer in the Süper Lig, ending the season with three goals in 31 appearances.
The future Barça man has played at various youth levels for the Turkish national team. Now 17, Emre Demir will play out the rest of this season at Kayserispor before furthering his development as part of Barça B from next summer onwards
