Barça One going strong one year in

Audiovisual content in the FC Barcelona free streaming platform viewed over 7.6 million times during the first year, with Premium documentaries, new formats, and video podcasts notable successes

The FC Barcelona free streaming platform Barça One is one year old on April 4. A twelve month period that has seen it become established as an audiovisual provider of Premium and exclusive productions that make Barça One the OTT with the best selection of Barça-themed content in the audiovisual space.

During these first 12 months, Barça One productions have been viewed over 7.6 million times, with large audiences in the United States of America, Mexico, France, Poland, Venezuela, and Colombia, in addition to Spain.

“The Next Generation” documentary most viewed content

Products taking a deeper dive into the teams and their members have been warmly received over these first 12 months. Examples include the Premium documentaries about the men's first team, such as “Barça Inside 24/25” – with the first two episodes now available for viewing – , “Gavi: the return”, “Origins”, “The next generation” – the most viewed content on the platform this year with half a million views – and productions that take a closer look at the women's team players, such as “Dare to play”.

New formats successful

New formats also feature on the most viewed list, for example "One to one" – with six episodes – and "Face to face" – with two episodes. Based on exclusive interviews with the Club's sportspersons, conducted by professionals who know the ins and outs of their careers, these programmes help show unknown aspects about players that other media and platforms don't have access to.

Video podcasts

The video podcasts have also been a stand-out feature this first year. There is notably the viewer's favourite, the "El Podcast del President" – three episodes – ; "el Barra Libre" – 45 episodes – ; "La Llotja del 125" – six episodes; or the latest addition, “My Story” – three episodes – the first completely in English. Video podcasts are destined to be a format for the future of Barça One, and in fact, new video podcasts are being prepared for release, and of course, they are also available via Spotify.

Spotify Camp Nou works and latest news prove popular

The latest news about the Club has also proved popular during the first year of Barça One. Over 700 Barça News programmes in three languages have been produced. In addition to press conferences, training sessions, and the Assemblies, users have been very interested in following the live camera showing how the Spotty Camp Nou works are coming along and the first six episodes of the "New Spotify Camp Nou. The Evolution of the Stadium" documentary that shows how the work is progressing.

Over 130 games shown

Barça One has shown over 130 games during its first year, including matches featuring Barça Atlètic, the U19As, the UEFA Youth League, youth football, the Barça Legends, and the Joan Gamper Trophy, with exclusive content. Let's not forget that the men's and women's first team games are also able for viewing on the platform 24 hours after they have been played. What's more, fans appear to like reminiscing about past matches, and the history section is one of the most visited in the platform. The Champions League match between Barça and PSG from the 16/17 season was the most watched game during this first year.

This year has also seen the launch of the TOP Barça channel, a Barça One spin-off with a linear television format funded by advertising - a FAST channel – that can be watched via content platforms around the world, which is also being received well, hence the plans to expand it over the coming months.

Free subscription and Premium option

Just a quick reminder that there are three Barça One user levels. The first is easiest to access, free of charge, and includes advertising. The second is also free of charge – only requiring registration – and you can personalise the channel, create your own playlists, receive programme recommendations, and watch exclusive content. Lastly, there is the Premium suscription, where for 1.99 euro/month (free for FC Barcelona members) you can download content to watch it wherever and whenever you want, all ad-free.
