Culer Walk ready to go

Only a few hours remain until the Culer Walk (Marxa Culer) to the Abbey at Montserrat. The event is part of the celebrations of the club's the 125th anniversary and the millennium of the Benedictine monastery, and it is open to FC Barcelona members, supporters’ club members, and fans. The more than one thousand registered participants will be divided between those who have chosen the 47-km route, departing from the Ciutat Esportiva, and those who have opted for a shorter 6.5-km route, which will start from Collbató.
The long walk will begin at 11:59pm on Friday 21 March, departing from the Estadi Johan Cruyff. The route will pass through the towns of Sant Joan Despí, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Molins de Rei, Sant Vicenç dels Horts, Pallejà, El Papiol, Castellbisbal, Sant Andreu de la Barca, Martorell, Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Esparreguera, and Collbató, before arriving at Montserrat. Along the way, walkers will find refreshment points in Molins de Rei, Martorell, Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Esparreguera, Collbató, and finally in the square outside the monastery. The short walk will begin at 9am on Saturday, at the Casal de Cultura in Collbató.
Commemorative event
The main group of walkers is expected to arrive at the Montserrat Monastery mid-morning on Saturday. To liven up the proceedings, various activities will take place in the arrival area. At 10am, the Comparsa Blaugrana will perform outside the monastery museum. At 12 noon, there will be a traditional sardana dance performed by the Colla Mirant al Cel. At 12.15pm, a commemorative event will be held in Plaça Santa Maria, featuring speeches by FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, the Most Reverend Abbot Dom Manel Gasch, and the president of the Catalan Federation of Hiking Organizations, Jordi Merino. Mayors from the towns along the route will also be in attendance, and there will be a tribute to the Penya Blaugrana de Manresa. Finally, at 1pm, mass will be held in Montserrat Basilica.
