FC Barcelona emotion and sentiment in Anniversary Gala at Liceu Theatre

FC Barcelona is celebrating its 125th anniversary next Friday 29 November at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, a commemoration of the history of an institution that Hans Gamper envisioned by placing an ad in a humble newspaper and that today is one of the most beloved sports clubs in the world.

The ceremony will begin at 7:30pm CET with nearly 2,000 invited guests who will enjoy a very special show in which emotion and the blaugrana spirit will take center stage. The gala is being co-produced by Barça Studios and 3Cat, in association with El Terrat, and will be broadcast live on Barça One and 3Cat.

Special shows on Barça One

Starting at 6:30pm CET, Barça One will be broadcasting a special programme featuring all the build-up to the ceremony, focusing on the red carpet where major personalities from Barcelona sport and society will be entering the venue. Llorenç Tarrés and Marc Brau will be hosting this segment, which will continue after the gala ends at around 9:00om CET, with all the reactions to what promises to be an unforgettable occasion.

Announcement of the winning anthem

On stage in Barcelona’s iconic opera house, there are a number of surprises in store, including a speech by president Joan Laporta and various tributes to both the founder of the Club, Hans Gamper, and the icons and social fabric that today make up Barça; from the Foundation to La Masia, the other sports sections, the Legends, Supporters’ Clubs, and much more.

Music will also be on the menu, and in big style. During the gala, the three tunes competing to become the 125th Anniversary Anthem will be performed live, and once the voting officially closes, the winner will be announced. Only official club members can vote, and the lines have been open since November 12 on the Members' App.
