FC Barcelona hereby announces that its Disciplinary Commission has decided to provisionally suspend the membership status of the persons arrested by the French Gerdarmeria during the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final match in Paris against PSG last April 10. It has also informed its supporters clubs that the third defendant has been informed that is henceforth forbidden from acquiring tickets for both home and away FC Barcelona events. The three investigated fans were arrested at the end of the match accused of making Nazi salutes as well as uttering racist insults.
The FC Barcelona Disciplinary Commission considers the events reported by the French police as "very serious" and for this reason this suspension will be immediate and will last until the internal investigation is concluded, which may last up to three months from the opening of the case. It should be noted that as a consequence of these circumstances, FC Barcelona is facing a fine from UEFA of up to 25,000 euros and a ban on Spanish fans travelling to away fixtures in Europe's primer football competition. That sanction has been suspended for one year.
Both the two suspended members and the accused supporters club member may present their corresponding defences to the club's disciplinary bodies.
FC Barcelona condemns any form of discrimination and reiterates its commitment to the defence of the values that form part of its identity.
