Barça continues to set new standards in the digital realm, with its followers growing on a variety of different platforms, and the women's team being one of the finest exponents. They¡'e triumphing on the pitch, and they're also triumphing on social media.
The women's team's TikTok has reached one million followers
Just half a year after it was created, their TikTok account has reached one million followers and has received 100 million views. And in recognition of this, it is among six nominees for the Social Impact prize at the forthcoming Spanish TikTok Awards, where it is competing against Playz, Freeda, Amnistia España, Greenpeace España and the Liga F.
The club's general account has an immense 31 million followers on TikTok according to the latest figures from September, and its 339 million views are more than any other sports club in the world for that period. And that account is also shortlisted for a prize, the sports category, where it is up against Real Madrid, the Kings League, Relevo, LaLiga and DAZN.
These nominations have a lot to do with the club's strong focus on the creation of digital and entertainment content, which from the Barça Identity department are working hard to boost the club's presence across its different channels, particularly trying to get the men's and women's players in closer contact with the fans and to promote inspirational role models for younger generations.
Voting is open until November 6 and you can cast one vote a day in each category, but only from within Spain.
