José Mari Bakero, FC Barcelona's director of scouting in Spain has announced that he is to resign from the position and take up a new job as coach of Bulgarian club Slavia Sofia.
FC Barcelona wishes to thank Bakero for his professionalism and wishes him all the very best with the futire.
More than 16 years at Barça
José Mari Bakero has been serving as director of scouting in Spain since 2021. Before that, from 2017, he was the head of professional youth football. Of course, before that he was a player at the club from 1988 to 1996, as part of the Dream Team, and also served as assistant manager to both Louis Van Gaal and Llorenç Serra Ferrer in 2000 and 2001.
