FC Barcelona presents its own WhatsApp Channel
New launch is yet another example of Barça’s leadership on each of the digital channels where it is present, and its community is constantly growing

FC Barcelona has launched its own WhatsApp Channel, the platform’s new function whereby messages can be sent directly to followers of the channel. This is a simple, secure and private way to get news sent directly from the club to WhatsApp. The service is already operational in Singapore and Colombia, and in the next few weeks will be extended to other countries and regions until covering the whole planet.
WhatsApp Channels are used for one-direction communication, whereby admins can send text, photos, videos, stickers and surveys. Channels will appear on a new tab called ‘Updates’, where users can opt to follow certain statuses and channels separately from their usual chats with family, friends and communities.
Barça was one of the few sports institution to partner with WhatsApp for the launch of WhatsApp Channels, and was the only football club to appear in the presentation video blog and the different press releases that WhatsApp sent out. This is just one of many examples of FC Barcelona’s leadership on each of the social networks on which it is present and where its community is undergoing constant growth.
