11 blaugranes candidates for FIFPro XI of the year
Plenty of Barça names on the shortlist for the FIFA FIFPRO XI of the year. For this edition there no less than eight members of the Barça Women squad included in the list of candidates: Sandra Paños, Lucy Bronze, Irene Paredes, Mapi León, Aitana Bonmatí, Graham, Alexia and Keira Walsh.
Barça most nominations for Women's XI
The blaugranes provide eight names for the 23 strong shortlist more than any other club. Furthermore, Barça involvement does not end with the women's team.
Three more culers
For the men's FIFPRO XI, three members of the first team squad are also included on the shortlist. Gavi, Pedri and Robert Lewandowski are all possible inclusions in the team of the year after their impressive performances for Xavi Hernández's team who are having a record breaking campaign.
FIFA and FIFPRO will announce the 2022 best XI on Monday 27 February during the gala ceremony for the FIFA The Best Award for which Alexia is amongst the three finalists in the women's category.
