FC Barcelona ended 2022 to the sound of the Spotify Wrapped Lists from the players from the men's and women's first team. This year the collaboration between Spotify and FC Barcelona continues with another project that connects players, fans, football and music.
From Monday 30 January fans can now listed to Matchday playlists created by Barça players Pedri and Alexia Putellas on the Spotify platform. The collections of songs can be found via links on the FC Barcelona official Spotify pages under the names “Barça Matchday by Pedri” and “Barça Femení Matchday by Alexia”. The new project is part of the agreement between the Barça and Spotify for a 2023 that will see music and football come together more than ever. The players themselves are the first to be excited about the initiative.
Pedri explains: "I am delighted to be in charge of the playlist for matchday and share my favourite songs. Music is always around footballers, in training and in the dressing room, before and after games. I hope you enjoy my choices - visca el Barça!"
For her part Alexia added: "The team are passionate about music and I am proud to be the first player from Barça Women to come up with a matchday playlist. I hope the fans can enjoy the music and feel what it is like to be amongst the players as we get ready for a match."
The agreement between FC Barcelona and Spotify
The project is part of the agreement signed in 2022 by FC Barcelona and Spotify which began in July of last year, bringing the worlds of Music and Football together, giving a global stage to players and artists at the Spotify Camp Nou Stadium, and building new opportunities to connect artists and players with fans around the world. The collaboration also unifies the Main Partner across both Men’s and Women’s kits as part of both organizations commitment to cultivating and supporting diverse talent now and for future generations.
