FC Barcelona pays tribute to Johan Cruyff with exclusive new fashion range

FC Barcelona has launched an exclusive, new range of clothing that pays homage to the legendary Johan Cruyff. Following the huge success of the Gallina de piel capsule, fans can now proudly dress in the Barça Cruyff Collection that reproduces emblematic models in the form of comfortable but original streetwear.

The club is thus paying tribute to the legend that is Johan Cruyff, and most especially to the style of play that will forever be associated to the man and the club he loved. Always a charismatic and elegantly dressed gentleman, even his dress sense was closely tied to his philosophy. The items in the range include hoodies with the words “Johan Cruyff Barça”, with a hood-less version also available. And there is another piece that's inspired by the iconic tracksuit bottoms that Cruyff used to love wearing in the 1970s, together with a matching sweatshirt.

Featuring the blaugrana colours and the number 9 that he worse in his playing days in Catalonia, there is a delightful T-shirt in the same style as the Barça kit of the era, and another with an image reflecting the famous moment on 22 December 1973 when the 'Flying Dutchman' almost literally honoured that name as he scored that amazing goal against Atlético Madrid.

Memorable pieces

The collection also includes an exact replica of the yellow shirt with a blaugrana sash that the team wore in Johan's latter years at the club, made with the same 100% cotton and including the crest at the time. There is also a polo top, a hood-less sweatshirt and other articles, including such accessories as a cap, a folder and a vintage ball printed with Cruyff's famous comment that "you play football with your head and your feet are just to help you."

As Cruyff would say, and as it says in the player's tunnel inside the stadium, "go out and have fun." This collection is the perfect way to honour somebody who did so much for the Barça legacy. Goosebumps guaranteed, wherever you are in the world.

The garments are made of cotton or polyester, depending on the item, and make every effort to stay faithful to the metrials, colours and eetails of the era. Available for now in adult sizes, it is being launched today Wednesday 14 December, at exactly 14.14 according to the 24 hour clock, thus honouring the shirt number that Cruyff wore for Ajax and the Netherlands.

The collection can be found at all Barça Stores at Camp Nou, Canaletes, Passeig de Gràcia, Westfield La Maquinista, Sagrada Família, La Roca Village and Barcelona Airport T1, in spaces dedicated to Johan Cruyff, and also via the club's e-commerce outlets.
