Alexia Putellas and Pedri González collected their Aldo Rovira Memorial awards for best male and female player for the 2020/21 season on Friday, having been selected by the judges last September.
They received their awards this Friday morning at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. They were joined by first vice-president, Rafael Yuste, and board member and director of women's football Xavier Puig. Also attending were the president of the Aldo Rovira Memorial Award, Josep Lluís Rovira, the award secretary, Borja Rovira, and several representatives of the Rovira family, along with members of the panel of judges representing the different media outlets.
This makes Alexia - current Ballon D'or and captain of the historic team - the first winner of the women's football category of the Aldo Rovir award, now in its twelfth edition.
The Aldo Rovira award was created by ex-director Josep Lluís Rovira as a tribute to his son Aldo, who had a fatal motorbike accident on March 18, 2009. He was 37 years old at the time.
