Formalisation of the posts amongst the Board of Directors

The new FC Barcelona Board of Directors met on Friday to formalise the posts held by the directors and the new arrivals. 

Below, the composition of the Board of Directors and their roles:

Furthermore, the Board of Directors have agreed to name Jordi Casals i Vilalta as president of Barça B. He was president of Santboià (2001-2009) and the Catalan Football Federation (2009-2010). 

Below a short profiles of each of the members of the FC Barcelona Board of Directors: 

JOAN LAPORTA I ESTRUCH

A graduate in Law from the University of Barcelona, he also has a master’s degree in Company Law and Taxation Expertise from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores Abat Oliba in Barcelona. He is a founding partner and owner of the Laporta & Arbós Advocats Associats legal firm; a member of the of the Barcelona Bar Association and, among other positions, is a patron and member of the executive commission of the Lluch Foundation and a patron of the Johan Cruyff Welfare Foundation.

He was president of FC Barcelona between 2003 and 2010.

RAFAEL YUSTE I ABEL

Barcelona, 1962. Yuste is the founding partner of AQIPA Iberia, a subsidiary of GMBH Austria, with offices in 13 countries. He is also a consultant in international business. Since 1983 he has been active in business in Europe, the US, Africa, Canada, Asia and South America. 

He was a director at FC Barcelona between 2005 and 2008 and sporting vice president between 2008 and 2010. 

ELENA FORT I CISNEROS

Barcelona, 1970. A graduate in Law from the University of Barcelona. A lawyer specialising in public law and urban issues, she is the founding partner of BRF Advocats SLP. She was a member of the Catalan parliament from May 2019 to December 2020. She is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association. 

She was a director at FC Barcelona between 2008 and 2010. 

EDUARD ROMEU I BARCELÓ

Romeu is a graduate in Economics and has worked at Banco de Santander and Bankia. In 2015 he joined the Audax Energia group as a corporate director and currently is vice president of the administration committee at Audax Renovables, an independent energy group which focuses on 100% renewable energy production, as well as the supplying of 100% renewable electricity and gas.

Barcelona, 1964. Cubells is a graduate in Law from the University of Barcelona. A lawyer with more than 25 years of professional experience, he is a founding partner of the Iuris Grup Advocats, former president of finance at the University of Barcelona, member of the procedure section of Icab, a member of the of the Tribunal for Sporting Arbitration in Catalonia and also holds a Masters in international business. 

He was a director at FC Barcelona between 2003 and 2010 and secretary of the Board between 2008 and 2010. 

JOSEP MARIA ALBERT I TURCÓ

Sant Boi de Llobregat, 1969. Albert was director general and sales director at JVC Spain and director general of acquisition for MediaMarkt Iberia. Currently, he is CEO of Ersax Trade, a distributor of electronic goods. He is cofounder of the brand Youin which specialises in urban mobility. 

XAVIER BARBANY I CANALETA

Riells i Viabrea (Girona), 1967. Barbany is a graduate in Technical Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He worked at Entrecanales and Tavora SA in the management and carrying out of the work for the Olympic Ring and the Olympic Village for Barcelona 1992; executive director of Construcciones Barbany, a firm at which he is delegate-councillor; cofounder of IER-1, a business dedicated to renewable energy and founder of Virene, a real estate business. Currently, he is president of Infinita Holding.

Escudero is a director and one of the administrators of the Grup Escudero, owner of the weekly Hora Nova in Figueres, president of the Hostelry Federation for the regions of Girona, vice president of the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation, vice president of the Confederation of Hostelry and Restaurants, member of the Girona Chamber of Commerce, member of the Executive Commission of PIMEC Girona, member of PIMEC Tourism, councillor on the Costa Brava Pirineu Girona Tourist Board. He was also president of Girona FC from 1998 to 2001 and founder of the first 'outlet' in the province of Girona.
