Speaker Biography:

Christina Chase is Managing Director and co-founder of the MIT Sports Lab which helps professional teams, global brands, the sports-tech industry & organizations tackle key questions at the nexus of sports and engineering.  The lab brings together MIT professors and students to help partners advance the frontiers of sport.
 
Christina holds appointments as a Lecturer at MIT in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. 
 
Prior to this, Christina was the first Entrepreneur in Residence at MIT through the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship where she  helped hundreds of teams go from concept to company. She has been named one of the 25 Most Influential Women in the Boston Tech Community and one of the 15 People Shaping Boston’s Tech Scene. She is a Techstars mentor and served on the Board of the MIT Enterprise Forum, and is a judge and former Advisory Board member for the SXSW Accelerator Competition.
 
Christina has an entrepreneurial record of success in several industries, starting her first company when she was 18 years old. She has worked across enterprise hardware, healthcare IT, materials and coatings, and education technology.
 
Christina was one of 12 women cyclists selected by the US Cycling Federation to train at the US Olympic Training Center. She has taught downhill skiing in Colorado and summited six of Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks across seasons. Her current passion is kiteboarding.
