Following the Enric Piñeyro’s first resignation, he was chosen to head an interim committee which ran the Club from 10 July to 13 August 1942. Vidal-Ribas, a member of a distinguished Barcelona family, had previously been vice president of Barça, and later also held a position on the Board - this time as Secretary. The enforced return of Piñeyro meant that his presidency only lasted 33 days.
On 5 October 1953 Vidal-Ribas presided over a Managing Committee that was put together following the resignation of Enric Martí Carreto and he was the man in charge of putting an end to Barça’s attempts to sign the Argentine Alfredo Di Stéfano.
