More than 300 members attend the information session on the works of the Spotify Camp Nou

The Club shared the updated details of the project in a session open to members, led by the vice-president of FC Barcelona, Elena Fort, and the director of operations of Espai Barça, Joan Sentelles, reaffirming its commitment to transparency

Yesterday, the participatory session of Espai Barça was held, an event attended by more than 300 members, who had previously registered, the maximum capacity allowed by the space. In addition, more than 15,000 spectators followed him at Barça One. The session, led by Vice President Elena Fort, served to update attendees on the current state of the works of the Spotify Camp Nou, who were willing to play official competitive games again this season, with a partial capacity of about 60,000 spectators. However, any forecast in the calendar is subject to revision depending on the development of the Espai Barça works.

An exercise in transparency and participation

Elena Fort opened the session thanking the members for their presence and recalling that this is the fourth session of participation around Espai Barça. He stressed that these meetings are a sign of the Club's desire for transparency, which is complemented by other initiatives, such as cameras that operate 24 hours a day, which allow us to follow the evolution of the works in real time from the FC Barcelona website.

Status of the works and processing of licenses

In her speech, Joan Sentelles gave an overview of the state of the works, detailing point by point what the different fronts of the project are on. He confirmed that the works are progressing as planned in all areas, including the Spotify Camp Nou, the Palau Blaugrana, the Campus and the adjacent developments. He also reported on the evolution of the more than 20 processed licenses necessary to make the new stadium a reality.

In addition, he explained the different imponderables that have affected the works, from administrative procedures to project revisions and structural reinforcements of the old building, factors that have required adjustments in execution times.

Despite these challenges, the works maintain the necessary pace to think about the team's return to the new Blaugrana headquarters before summer. In this regard, when the Spotify Camp Nou reopens its doors, the stadium will have a temporary access control system, temporary lighting and fully operational services, and 200 parking spaces designed to cover the club's commitments, the PMR and operational needs.

Currently, the project has the participation of 3,400 workers. As for the final deadlines for the works, the only significant change is the execution of the roof of the new stadium, which will take place once the 2025/26 season ends. This decision does not affect the general conditions of the stadium or the capacity and has been adopted to ensure the normal development of the competition during that season.

In parallel with the construction, the Club has already started work to plant the stadium's lawn. The process, which lasts approximately 10 weeks, consists of removing sand from the construction sites, installing the drains and then planting the new grass, a task that is expected to be completed in mid-April.

Key facts about Spotify's return to Camp Nou

During the session, several issues relevant to partners were addressed, including:

  • Suspension of subscriber status: The Board of Directors maintains the agreement not to lift the suspension until the works are completely finished.
  • Criteria for people with reduced mobility: As a general rule, the minimum distance criterion from original locations will apply to all subscribers. In addition, the case of this group will be treated with special attention and it will be ensured that the passes facilitate their mobility.
  • Opening of an exclusive service office to manage the return to Spotify Camp Nou. This office will have more than 10 people to offer support and resolve any questions from subscribers.
  • Waiting list for new subscriptions: It was reiterated that the forecast is that about 3,000 people can join the waiting list when the redistribution process is complete.

Economic Management and Investor Relations

FC Barcelona maintains the planned payments with Goldman Sachs according to the established deadlines and depending on the evolution of the works. The contact with the financial institution is daily, with an exhaustive monitoring of the construction. In addition to the Club and the construction company, investors are also a key player in the project, since they have committed their investment to certain milestones determined by its profitability.

Launch of VIP Ring Seats and growth of Barça Hospitality

In parallel with the development of the work, Barça Hospitality has launched the VIP Ring Seats, the last Premium seats available for the future stadium. With 60% of the VIP products already sold, the Club continues to expand the exclusive offer for the new headquarters in Blaugrana. These new locations are located on the corners of the first VIP floor and have exclusive access to the hospitality rooms of the Spotify Camp Nou.

Espai Barça: a great opportunity for the sponsors and partners of the new stadium

The Spotify Camp Nou and Espai Barça project also represents a great opportunity for the sponsorship program created specifically for this new infrastructure. It is one of the most important projects in the Club's history and has become a platform full of new opportunities both for companies that address consumers directly (B2C) and for those that focus on the business environment (B2B). This program allows sponsors to take advantage of the global impact and prestige of FC Barcelona to consolidate their brand presence and generate commercial synergies.

Several companies wanted to join the new Spotify Camp Nou, consolidating themselves as key partners in the project. These include Fortinet, Hewlett Packard, Fever, Carrier, Raventós Codorníu, Panasonic, Eheim, HPE, TK Elevator, Figueras, IPG, Legends and Disano, among others.
