After fleeing Eastern Europe for political reasons, the striker came to FC Barcelona in 1958 at the age of 29 together with another amazing Hungarian, Sandor Kocsis.
Known as the Pájaro Loco (Woody Woodpecker) for his character and nervous mannerisms on the pitch, Czibor stayed at Barça until 1961 and scored 58 goals in 93 games. He was incredibly skilful but also wonderfully unpredictable, making him a firm crowd favourite. He usually played on the left wing and offered a spectacular blend of pace and acrobacy.
Czibor was also a member of the extraordinary Hungarian side of the 1950s, which reached the 1954 World Cup Final, and also won Olympic gold at Helsinki 52.
