FC Barcelona Lassa and UCAM Múrcia have reached an agreement for the homegrown Spanish player's transfer to the Catalan side. Faverani, who has successfully completed his medical, is in Barcelona and blaugrana head coach Georgios Bartzokas could give him his debut as early as this Thursday against Anadolu Efes.
Faverani had been playing in the Spanish League and the Eurocup with UCAM Múrcia, who he joined at the midway point of the 2015/16 season. Before that he had played for Unicaja Málaga. During his time at Málaga, Faverani went out on loan on various occasions to Zaragoza and Bruesa (2004-2009), Múrcia (2009-2011), Valéncia Basket (2011-2013), the Boston Celtics in the NBA (2013-2015), and also Maccabi Tel Aviv for a brief spell in 2015.
FC Barcelona Lassa's Sporting Manager, Rodrigo De la Fuente, believes the addition of Faverani will add “intensity, energy and versatility to the team."
"Vitor can give us an extra gear when he is on the court,” de la Fuente said. "He has enough quality and experience to adapt quickly and contribute in different areas of our game thanks to his characteristics and his experience in European basketball.”
