Ante Tomic and Barça have decided to go their separate ways after eight seasons. The Croatian centre, who is the foreign player with the most matches in the history of the basketball section, will not continue at Barça next season. The club wishes him every success in the future, both personally and professionally.
12 titles
Tomic, 33, arrived in Barcelona in the summer of 2012 and his eight seasons since have seen him achieve a total of 12 titles: 1 ACB League (2013/14), 3 Copas del Rey (2013, 2018 and 2019), 1 Super Cup (2015) and 7 Catalan Leagues (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019).
For the last two seasons he was Barça's captain.
Foreigner with most matches
In his eight seasons as a culer, Tomic played a total of 579 matches between ACB League (311), Euroleague (236), Copa del Rey (19) and Super Cup (13). He is, by far, the foreign player with the most games played in the history of the basketball section. Erazem Lorbek (341) and Gianluca Basile (329), occupy the second and third spots.
Tomic ends his time at the club being the second highest rebounder in the Endesa League (1967, average of 6.3) behind Roberto Dueñas (2113), and the third most valued player in history (4845, average of 15.6) behind Juan Carlos Navarro and Epi. He was also as the sixth highest scorer for Barça in the league (average of 10.7 points).
