Four FC Barcelona stars competing in Eurobasket

The 2015 Eurobasket being held in France, Germany, Croatia and Latvia will have a significant FC Barcelona presence.
Barça Lassa’s Pau Ribas (Spain), Ante Tomic (Croatia), Stratos Perperoglou (Greece) and Tomas Satoransky (Czech Republic) will take part in Europe’s biggest basketball competition from 5 until 20 September.

New recruit Ribas will compete in his first major international competition with Spain, who face countries like Serbia, Turkey and Italy in Group B. Sergio Scariolo’s side begin their campaign against 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup runners up Serbia on Saturday at 6.00pm CET.

The center will come up against new Barça teammate Perperoglou of Greece in Group C. Tomic and Croatia start off against Slovenia at 9.00pm CET.

Big things are expected of the veteran who signed for Barça this summer, as he has been one of Greece’s most important players in recent seasons. First up for Perperoglou’s Greece are neighbours Macedonia at 6.00pm CET on Saturday.

Barça Lassa’s point guard will be leading out his country at the 2015 Eurobasket before starting his second season at the Palau Blaugrana. In Group D, Czech Republic take on one of the host nations Latvia and one of the tournament favourites in Lithuania. Satoransky and his teammates get underway on Saturday at 3.30pm CET against Estonia.
