FC Barcelona will display a 45x46 meter banner at Camp Nou before kickoff Wednesday night emblazoned with the phrase “Dialogue, Respect, and Sport” to call attention to the current situation in Catalonia.
This is the same message that was transmitted by FC Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu on October 5th during an institutional message delivered under the same title, “Dialogue, Respect, and Sport,” which called for a process of dialogue and negotiations to find solutions to the current political situation in Catalonia, with the utmost respect for the will of the majority of Catalan citizens to decide its future.
FC Barcelona has invited Agustí Alcoberro, vice-president of the National Catalan Assembly (ANC), and Jordi Bosch, secretary of Òmnium Cultural, to attend the match.
There will be ample representation of the Comissió Independent per a la Mediació, el Diàleg i la Conciliació (Independent Commission for Mediation, Dialogue and Conciliation), which the Club announced it was adhering to on October 4th. The group will have representatives in the President Suñol Box for the Barça-Olympiacos match on Wednesday night. The delegation will be led by Ms. Mª Eugenia Gay, the Deacon of the Il·lustre Col·legi d’Advocats de Barcelona (Barcelona Bar Association), the driving force behind the Commission.
