Andrés Iniesta and Luis Suárez were the duo of Barça stars on media conference duty today in Miami, where there two topics stood out head and shoulders above the rest. The first was the situation regarding their colleague Neymar Jr and the second was Saturday’s preseason friendly with a difference – FC Barcelona versus Real Madrid at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Andrés Iniesta: "We’d rather people weren’t talking about this so much but there’s only way it can end: for Ney to speak".
"I have always said that he’s one of the best players in the world and I hope he stays at Barça for many more years. That would be great news for the club and for him … For me, he is one of the best and my team always wants the best. I have no doubt that we all want him to stay.”
Luis Suárez: "As we have all been saying, the sooner this is cleared up the better for all of us, Ney included. He’ll give hi explanation in good time and we just have to support him with whatever decision he makes.”
“But what his team-mates want is for him to stay. It is a pleasure to play with him and would be a shame to lose him.”
Andrés Iniesta: "It’s a bit strange to play Madrid in the preseason and so far from home. It’s all part of our preparations and it’ll be a nice game and a special one too because it’s a Clásico. I hope we put on a great show, considering the stage of the season we are at. It’s all about getting into our rhythm and gaining confidence."
Luis Suárez: "It’s a Clásico. Obviously we want to win but we also want to get into our rhythm.”
